Chukars drop 2 with Yakima Valley
(Ontario, OR) - The Yakima Yaks (leading the NWAC East Region) took two from the Chukars on Saturday at Elks Memorial Field 12-0 and 13-3.
Game 1: Yaks 12 CHUKS 0
The Chukars managed just 3 hits in game one on Saturday. Drayson Hladky, Trent Cooper, and Payton Higgins all singled. Starting pitcher Rhys Pope, who went 5 innings and gave up 3 hits and 3 unearned runs, suffered the loss.
Game 2: Yaks 13 CHUKS 3
The Yaks outhit the CHUKS 11-5 in game two. Yakima pitching recorded 14 strikeouts in the game. CC Burrup, Chase Barerra, Cooper, Wyatt Berg, and Connor Benear had hits for the CHUKS. Riley Harris suffered the loss.
