CHUKS down WWCC 13-3 in game one, drop game two 9-8
(Ontario, OR) - After defeating the Warriors from Walla Walla 13-3 in game one, the Chukars rallied from a 5-1 deficit to take the lead 8-5, only to give up 4 runs in the 7th and 8th innings to lose 9-8 in game two.
Game 1 CHUKS 13 Walla Walla 3 (8 innings)
Tyler Strickland came in relief to earn the win as the Chukars exploded for 13 runs on 11 hits. Payton Higgins delivered twice with 2 outs driving in 4 runs with 2 doubles. Trent Cooper banged out 3 hits while CC Burrup and Anthony Pannullo each had two hits in the win.
Game 2 Walla Walla 9 CHUKS 8
After the Chukars rallied to take a 8-5 lead, the Warriors bounced back with 3 runs in the 8th inning with 2 outs to take a 9-8 lead. Wyatt Berg hit a HR and had 4 RBI's while CC Burrup went 4-5 to lead the Chukar offensive attack. Pannullo, Carson Wong, and Luke Stowers each had two hits. The Chukars outhit the Warriors 14-12. Casey Rodriguez suffered the loss.
The Chukars dropped to 1-5 in league play and will play at Yakima Valley this Saturday.
