Chuks lose tough DH with Spokane

(Ontario, OR) - The Chukars drop both games with Spokane saturday afternoon 7-4 and 3-2 at Elks Memorial Field.

Game 1   Spokane 7  CHUKS 3 

Starting pitcher Casey Rodriguez had a strong outing going 6.1 innings scattering 5 hits and keeping the CHUKS in the game 2-2. Going into the top of the 9th inning, Spokane put 5 runs on the board after hitting two home runs. The Chukars managed to rally and score 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth on Chase Barrera's double. Carson Wong went 3-5 with an RBI and CC Burrup also had three hits. Barrera went 2-4.

Game 2   Spokane 3  CHUKS 2

Starter Riley Harris went 6.2 innings holding the Sasquatch scoreless and scattering 7 hits. Reliever Rhys Pope suffered the loss giving up 3 runs (2 unearned) in the top of the 8th inning. The Chukars rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 8th, but could not punch another run and lost 3-2.

Burrup went 2-4, Drayson Hladky went 2-4 and Connor Benear went 2-4 for the CHUKS.

The Chukars dropped to 0-4 in league and will host Walla Walla CC this Wednesday in a DH starting at 1 pm.
