Chukars take opener 16-7 over Grays Harbor, drops second game 7-6
(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC Chukar baseball team opened the 2018 season with a big win over Grays Harbor College, 16-7, but dropped the second game 7-6 in 7 innings.
Sophomore Chase Barerra went 5-5 with 4 RBI's in game one. Roy Robles earned the win.
In game two, the Chukars jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but gave up 4 unearned runs in the 3rd inning. The Chukars battled back to a 6-6 tie going into the 7th only to give up the winning run to GHC to drop game two 7-6.
Red shirt freshman Carson Wong and sophomore Drayson Hladky each went 4-4 to lead the Chukar offense.
The Chukars will host GHC in another doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 pm noon.
