CHUKS take two critical games from Walla Walla

(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC Chukar baseball team sweeps Walla Walla in crucial East Region games at Elks Memorial Field winning game one 11-7 and game two 10-1.

In game one: The Chukars jumped out to an early lead 4-0 and were cruising behind the strong pitching of starter Tanner Cantwell, but WWCC came back with 6 runs in the top of the 5th inning to take the lead. However, the strong relief pitching from Kaleb Jones, Levi Abrahamson, Joe Becher, and Caleb Burnham held the Warriors and the CHUKS came back with 6 runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh and held on to win 11-7. Abrahamson collected the win.

Cantwell went 3-5 with 3 RBI's including his 4th HR of the year. Nolan Jekich went 2-4 with 3 RBI's and his 1st HR of the year. Cole Jones delivered the big hit with a bases loaded double scoring three runs and giving the CHUKS the lead for good. Tyler Roper went 2-4 and Dylan Mansanzarez went 2-4.

In game two: Blake McFadden pitched in relief of starter Ryan Yost to earn the win in the CHUKS' blow out win 10-1. Nolan Jekich had the hot bat again, in game two, going 3-5 with 2 RBI's and his second HR of the day. Jerred Seamons, Roper, Jones, Cantwell, and Logan LaFemina each had two hits in game two.

The CHUKS, 22-17 overall and 13-9 in league, will host Big Bend CC this Saturday on sophomore day. First pitch will be at 12 pm noon at Elks Memorial Field.
