Chukars take two from Blue Mountain 10-2 and 6-3

(Ontario, OR) - The TVCC Chukar baseball team got back on track with a sweep over BMCC on Wednesday afternoon at Elks Memorial Field. The CHUKS banged out 27 hits on the day and had two outstanding efforts from both starting pitchers. And the Chukar bull pen had a nice day as well.

In game one: Starting pitcher Tyler Laird went 6 innings to pick up his second win of the season. Laird scattered six hits, gave up one earned run, had no walks, and struck out 6 BMCC hitters.

Sophomore centerfielder Cole Jones went 3-3 with 3 RBI's to lead the offense. The Chukars collected 16 hits in the game. Jerred Seamons, Tanner Cantwell, Brad Jekich, Dylan Mansanzarez, and Chase Barerra each collected two hits. Jekich also had 3 RBI's.

In game two: Freshman starting pitcher Ty Hueckman improved his season record to 3-0 with another quality start for the CHUKS. Hueckman went 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 earned runs and no base on balls.

The Chukar bats racked up an additional 11 hits in game two. Seamons, Nolan Jekich, and Logan LaFemina each had two hits.

The Chukars, 6-4 in league and 15-12 overall, will travel to Big Bend CC this Saturday.
