CHUKS complete weekend sweep of Lane CC
(Eugene, OR) - The TVCC Chukar baseball team completed their weekend sweep over Lane CC on Saturday winning game one 3-1 behind the pitching of Tanner Cantwell. In game two, it took 11 innings but the Chukars won again 3-1 and extended their current winning streak to 5 games.
In game one, Cantwell went 6.0 innings giving up only 3 hits and 1 earned run. Ty Hueckman pitched the last 3 innings to earn the save giving up only 1 hit and no runs.
Freshman shortstop Logan LaFamina went 2-4 and knocked in 2 runs. Sophomore Jerred Seamons went 2-3 and sophomore Brad Jekich had an RBI double.
In game two, the CHUKS had to go 11 innings to win 3-1 by scoring two runs in the top of the 11th inning. Caleb Burnham picked up the win pitching the final 5.0 innings in relief. Seamons went 1-4 with an RBI. Despite the win, the CHUKS were outhit 7-4.
The Chukars, 7-6 overall, will host Clackamas CC this Friday and Saturday.
